About Northwest Fellowship

We are an evangelical church proclaiming the gospel of Christ on Chicago's northwest side. Our purpose is to know, worship, and share Jesus Christ--and we desire that people see Jesus in all that we do. Originally serving Chicago's German population in 1858, Northwest Fellowship desires to equip people for gospel living in all walks of life.

Beliefs

What a church believes is essential to its life and mission.

Our identity as a local church is a reflection of our historical Christian heritage as Baptists (see below on our affiliation). More critical than church tradition is our application of the Bible. We hold that the Bible is without error in all that it affirms.

Affiliation

We are affiliated with the North American Baptist Conference, which was organized in 1865. This conference is made up of Baptist Associations or regions. This includes about 400 churches in both the U.S. and Canada, with a membership of over 64,000.

We belong to the Upper Mississippi Region, which consists of 50 Baptist churches in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. One of our goals, as a conference, is to win persons to Christ at home and abroad. Our missions department carries on evangelistic, educational, and medical work in Brazil, the United Republic of Cameroon and Nigeria in West Africa, in Romania, in Russia, in Japan, in Mexico, and in the Philippines.
